Yahoo Messenger 6.0 To 7.5 retired

CALIFORNIA - Yahoo recommends all users Yahoo Messenger version 6.0 to 7.5 to immediately upgrade to version YMnya least 8.0 or higher. The reason Yahoo will immediately cease its support for versions 6.0 through 7.0

All IM applications that will only last until 30 September 2009.

"Several months ago we never said it would stop Messenger versions 6.0 through 7.5. And we will do so until September 30, 2009," says Sarah Bacon, product manager for Yahoo Messenger as reported by Softpedia, Sunday (13/9/2009).


He added, if users continue to use the 6.5 version of YM will not be able anymore to chat. He explained, upgrade to version 8.0 is very important and will delete all the contacts lists they own.

"When you migrate to 8.0 throughout the contact list will continue to carry," he said.

Yet Yahoo remains will provide services to function Mesengger Instant email facilities, including the Classic Mail. She also recommends users should upgrade its IM applications to the latest version like version 9 or version 10 beta with new features like video chat. (STF
